I. How to update MOTR firmware - Preparation
----------------------------------------------

1. Make a backup of your internal user presets onto a PC with a SysEx dump program such as MIDI-OX.
Details of this procedure are shown in the "How-to" document in the MOTR product page of the Behringer.com website.

2. Do a full reset on the MOTR keyboard:
	a) Press the GLOBAL button.
	b) Select "6. DEVICE".
	c) Select "5. RESET SETTINGS".
	d) Select "YES", and confirm by pressing the DATA push encoder.

3. Put the MOTR keyboard in its Firmware Update mode:
	a) Power off the keyboard.
	b) Connect via USB to your computer.
	c) Press and hold down both OCTAVE buttons.
	d) Power on the keyboard.
	e) When the MOTR display shows "UPDATE", release both OCTAVE buttons.

4. Now the MOTR keyboard is in the Update Mode, follow the procedure below:

II. Firmware Update for Windows - Procedure
--------------------------------------------

> Supported OS versions: Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10.

> Not supported OS versions: Windows XP, Vista.

1. Download and extract the zip file for Windows PC from the MOTR product page (under "Downloads > Firmware").

2. Double-click on "MotorKeyboardUpdate_V0.3" to start the updater application.

3. Look in the upper right corner of the PC app display, and confirm that your model has been recognized and is shown in "Update Mode".
(If it is not in Update Mode, please power off the keyboard, and set it in UPDATE mode again, as shown in Preparation, Step 3 above.)

4. Press the large button in the PC app display: "click to update USB MIDI device software".

5. When the update procedure has finished, the keyboard will re-start with the new firmware.

6. Click "OK" on the PC app and close it.

7. If any problems occur, please repeat the steps above.

III. Notes regarding Firmware 1.086
-----------------------------------

1. The velocity of the black keys is generally more sensitive than for the white keys.
This is normal behaviour and can be found on many other keyboards.

2. For the best control of pad velocity and pad aftertouch, try to hit the pads in the same place each time.

3. Please note that Program Change assignments to the pads are not stored; they are lost when the power is turned off.

4. If you need to change the MIDI channel for the transport control buttons, please assign the buttons using the following menu:
GLOBAL > 1. MIDI > 4. CHANGE CONTROL. In this menu you have the option to change the MIDI channel and port.

5. If you are using the Arpeggiator with an external clock, do not change the tempo too fast, or it might occasionally lose sync.

6. If you notice any initial triggering problems with the Arpeggiator in external sync mode, please switch "A LATCH" off.

7. Avoid changing the sync mode while your DAW is running.

8. If you notice a different assignment of "3. PEDAL > 1. SUSTAIN" for the foot switch,
please assign the required CC command (in this case: CC 64 = Sustain) using "1. CTRL CHNG (CC) MESG".

9. In a similar way, if you notice a different assignment of "2. PEDAL > 1. EXPRESSION" for the expression pedal,
please assign the required CC command (in this case: CC 11 = Expression) using "1. CTRL CHNG (CC) MESG".

10. Please note that the fader touch function has a little latency between touching the fader cap and sending out the MIDI command.

11. Please note that the change of pad LED color is stored globally, and is not stored into presets.

12. If you notice that the change of LED ring behaviour after storing into a preset is not updated,
please recall a different preset and then return to the original preset where you stored the change.

13. Please note that the DEFAULT preset is not visible in the PRESET OVERVIEW chart,
which contains only the re-writeable memory places. You can copy the DEFAULT preset into a new preset, and then change the name.

14. Default operation mode is "MC" (Mackie Control).
The assignment of the panel controls in MC mode is described in a table in the quick start guide.
If you don't use the "Mackie Control" emulation, please select "MIDI" operation mode.

15. If you are recording audio in the same room as your MOTR keyboard,
you can switch off the fader motors using the following menu, to avoid additional noise:
    (GLOBAL > 3. FADERS > 1. MOTOR MIDI ON/OFF > "2. FADER MOTOR OFF")

16. After powering on, the faders will move up and down automatically for calibration.
In some cases, they may change their final rest position.
This is normal behaviour, and has no influence on the fader operation.

17. As a reminder, the following items are saved in Presets, rather than Globally:
Footswitch Settings, Encoder LED Ring Assignments, Transport Button Assignments.

18. If you do not save the current preset after changing a parameter,
then the changes will be lost when you change to a different preset.
